Introduction / Goals  -

Hi Everyone!  My name is Adam Hollman and I am from the San Francisco Bay area of California, USA.  +Terry Newton suggested I should join this forum.  I am relatively new to working out/training as I started a year ago.  I started from scratch!  An empty bar seemed very heavy to me at the time.  My reason for starting this journey is primarily for health.  I am a big guy and I needed to get in much better shape.  Also, 4 1/2 years ago I ruptured a disc in my back and I wanted to become stronger.  I started out very slow with a trainer who was very methodical in building up my foundation to ensure I did not injure myself.  Progress was slow, but over time I got much better.  This past March he left to go play pro baseball in Italy and I started with a new trainer.  This trainer (a female) is very focused on body building and power lifting.  She is a beast!  She has worked with me on a lot of heavy weights and after a couple months of doing deadlifts I hit a new PR of 375lbs (170kg) a week and half ago.

After working with a trainer for 2 times a week for a year, I am now on my own.  I go on a much needed 2 week holiday starting this coming Saturday, but after that I plan to hit the gym pretty hard and see where I can go.

I am still learning all the lingo and trying to develop my own workout plans, but I look forward to participating here with you all.

Thank you for allowing me to join your community!

Below is a video of my 375lb PR (sumo style which I find easier on my back).

Tonight's Sunday Supper - Back to the basics mixed grill.  Grilled chicken drumsticks, chicken thighs two ways - lightly seasoned and teriyaki marinaded, grilled pork loin chops and grilled corn on the cob.

Cooked BBQ for about 30 co-workers yesterday.  Cooked MOINK balls, beef tri-tip, and sausage.  Fun team building experience!

I love shopping at my local Mexican grocery store, especially for meat.  They butcher their own hogs and no parts go to waste.  Always fresh!  Closest thing we have to a real butcher shop in town as far as I know.
