So a new client decided to re-evaluate which tool their team used for communication and project management. Subsequently, it will be the tool we will end up using with them. I test out tools quite frequently and have used Basecamp for over 5 years. They've improved, but only slight and still remain simple to use, but behind the time. Slack alone is good for communications and a little for file sharing, but lacks overall project management and collaboration capabilities.

We are trying Asana with a client and I thought I'd really like it, but it's got too much happening on each screen.

What new tool did our new client decide to adopt? It's called Glip. I've been kicking the tires for only 24 hours and I think it's quite interesting. To some extent they combined Slack, Skype, Join.me and all the standard productivity/project management features. Additionally, they've integrated other services as needed such as Dropbox, Google Drive and even Asana and Trello.

I never heard of Glip until recently and I'm quite surprised due to it's comparable features to Slack which is the current darling of the team communications space.

Has anyone else used Glip? What do you think of it?

http://blog.glip.com/glip-vs.-slack-a-comparison
Thinking of switching to Glip? On the surface, Glip and Slack are both great business messaging apps aimed at making teamwork simple, but you’d be surprised at how different they really are.

In the continuing spirit of driving my life with more intention and focus I'm taking inspiration yet again from a post by +Michael Hyatt.  As a business owner and entrepreneur my week can drastically sway from predictable to not at the drop of a dime. Most, including me, don't try hard enough to curb the unpredictable elements. I've gotten exponentially better over the years, but really liked this idea of "designing" your ideal week. In the same vein as writing down your goals, putting some thought into what your "ideal", most productive, rewarding and balanced idea of a week looks like can get you much closer to making it happen.

Have you done anything like this in order to add structure and predictability to your schedule? What kind of impact did it have?

One of the ways I have learned to take control of my time is by planning My Ideal Week. I then use this as a template for planning each week.

In its initial form, I never thought Snapchat would amount to much of a major social media channel. I expected it to stick within the realm of group messaging apps with the self destructing images and video as it's claim to fame.

I was wrong.

Slowly but surely they've been making the turn. First with the addition of its STORY feature and now with the new DISCOVERY section which launched today.

I've enjoyed exchanging messages with a few friends via Snapchat over the last few months. I've also observed some very cool uses to use it for Story telling. The new feature has now taken that to the next level.

I think Snapchat can legitimize itself as a content platform for more than just sexting teens if this takes off. Check it out and add me on Snapchat. I'm "adamhelweh".

Cool tech for those who want to feel the interface. Now available in an upcoming iPad case. I saw this tech discussed a while back as a way to retain the benefit of adaptive touch interfaces and include physical bumps, ridges and other elements that makes a physical interface.

Modern touch screen interfaces introduced infinite interface options and the flexibility to iterate on an interface over time when a new feature or improvement is introduced. The problem, for some, is the loss of the physicality of the user experience. The feel of keys on a keyboard or resistance of a button when pressed.

This technology enables much of that physical interface to return and remain almost as adaptable as the touch screen interface under it. It uses microfluidics to fill channels within a physical layer on top of the screen to form the buttons and such. When the buttons need to disappear the fluid simply releases its form. The fluid is always there, but is channeled and trapped appropriately to create the physical touch experience needed at the time. Learn more about the tech here: http://tactustechnology.com/technology/

Considering how this place is tucked away near a residential area it surprised me. The service has always been nice and the steaks are far better than anything in the area. It is nice enough to bring your significant other out for a nice meal or your family for a fun get-together.

My wife and I love Simply Thai. We measure all other Thai places to here. The service is extraordinary and the food is excellent. We never ordered a dish that we did not like. It always tastes fresh and is presented nicely when served.

Nijo Castle is close to one of the best sushi places I have been to. The design of the building and atmosphere inside make it a a great place to go with friends. You can sit at the sushi bar, get a table or slip into the tepanyaki room with your party and enjoy the food being prepared in front of you. This is not a place to cheap sushi. The prices are what is expected of a good sushi place.

I usually travel to Milpitas to get my pho fix, but we decided to check out a place closer to home. I was not impressed with the taste of the food compared to other places we have eaten at. The atmosphere was average. I have since been to 2 other pho places that were new to me and liked each much better than here. I believe it was the broth of the pho that turned me off.
