The Heartbleed Checklist: What Passwords to Change
To enlarge image: http://goo.gl/MfNWZ2

Heartbleed bug is a major security flaw in OpenSSL, and is one of the biggest threats ever to face the online community.

Conflicting reports have led to panic – nobody seems to know which social networking sites and other popular services have been affected.

To dispel the confusion, the iVPN folks have created a checklist that tells you which sites have been affected by the HeartBleed bug, and whether it's safe to change your password.

A key highlight from visual: (after the heartbleed news) It's highly recommended to change your passwords, especially if you are using Blogger, Google, Gmail. Yahoo, Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, YouTube (Pinterest too).

Tip: You can check if any website is vulnerable of heartbleed bug with this tool: lastpass.com/heartbleed

This week we've got Gini Dietrich, Author of Spin Sucks: Communication and Reputation Management in the Digital Age on the show to talk about how marketing has transformed in the digital age.  Join us and bring your questions!

Some explanation about how "views" are counted on Google+ profiles.

Several people have been asking me about the new "view count" number which shows up on your profile, and I've been answering on a bunch of threads, so let me give you the key answers in one place.

What does this number count? This is total views on your profile, your posts, your photos, and your videos.

What constitutes a "view?" For your profile, when someone goes to view your profile page. For other things, it's when they look at it -- e.g., when one of your posts shows up on someone's screen. (That's because this is how most people read posts: showing up in a stream, without clicking on it explicitly) Looking at your hovercard doesn't count.

Is this related to +1's, reshares, etc.? Only in that someone who +1'ed your post also probably saw it. You can already see counts for those on individual posts, etc., and before today you could see view counts for each photo if you looked carefully at the one-up view -- now you can see that for everything.

If someone reshares my post, does that count? Yes, since a viewer is seeing your content. Ditto if someone sees your post through an "Alice +1'ed this," through a post embedded on a page, or any other way that someone encounters it.

I don't want to show this on my profile! You can hide this by going to your settings page. Go to plus.google.com/settings and look for "Show how many times your profile and content have been viewed."

This seems strange: Some people seem to have a lot more views relative to their number of followers than others. Is something broken? Not at all. Some people have a lot of followers but don't engage with them well, while other people engage amazingly with a smaller group.

I want to find out more. Check out the Help Center article at http://goo.gl/8BjroH .

Cucumber sprouts photographed every 2 minutes for 20 hours compiled at 24 frames per second to make 15 seconds of video.
I love trying out the latest technology. Especially when it allows me to be more creative or self expressive. Last year I backed Michron on Kickstarter. It's a small device that attaches to your full sized SLR camera to enable you to take time-lapse photography. You initially connect it to your iPhone (or Android) and program the time-lapse setting, disconnect your phone and it does the rest.
I love this. Now I see my backyard as a treasure trove of life to capture in motion. What should I capture next?

Project Ara is one of the most interesting consumer tech projects of the last few years. I'd buy one of these devices. Especially considering how extensible it will be over time if the project takes off.

Considering how this place is tucked away near a residential area it surprised me. The service has always been nice and the steaks are far better than anything in the area. It is nice enough to bring your significant other out for a nice meal or your family for a fun get-together.

My wife and I love Simply Thai. We measure all other Thai places to here. The service is extraordinary and the food is excellent. We never ordered a dish that we did not like. It always tastes fresh and is presented nicely when served.

Nijo Castle is close to one of the best sushi places I have been to. The design of the building and atmosphere inside make it a a great place to go with friends. You can sit at the sushi bar, get a table or slip into the tepanyaki room with your party and enjoy the food being prepared in front of you. This is not a place to cheap sushi. The prices are what is expected of a good sushi place.

I usually travel to Milpitas to get my pho fix, but we decided to check out a place closer to home. I was not impressed with the taste of the food compared to other places we have eaten at. The atmosphere was average. I have since been to 2 other pho places that were new to me and liked each much better than here. I believe it was the broth of the pho that turned me off.
