while I respect your right to live your life as you see fit...your approach is exactly what I object to in all authoritarian regimes (large or small). there is a pervasive belief that certain things
are to be hidden from the majority of people. That if they never
see these things, they'll somehow be better able to cope with the world as it is. That their lives will be happier without that knowledge.
Well perhaps that's true, but one can be very happy while staying drunk and oblivious, It does not mean it's a lifestyle choice to be admired. I am very much of the opinion
that children are a lot more robust than we pretend, and that our victorian-influenced attitudes towards "proper" has destroyed an entire generation's ability to engage in radical, critical thought. If they never see it, how can they possibly know enough to object to it?
