Trying to work on not getting overly irate when people irrationally object to something, using (what appears to me to be) a misguided bias, rendered without any evidence to support the opposition--especially when the entire objection consists of a curt denial.

This probably means I would live longer if I stopped contributing to the Internet. We'll see how long I can go before continuing my rebuttal to this flippant objection:

Prints available for my Halloween art show piece. I specifically designed this for a wrapped canvas print (I'm staring at one on my desk right now and I'm amazed at how it turned out).

Got two "invitation to interview" emails from different Amazon departments today. I like how they word it, like its a secret social network.

Of course, you could file it under non-awesome that numbers too big for the engine to handle return Infinity:

I have joined the tildeverse, in which you can find a very tiny preview of the deck of playing cards I'm painting (hoping to finish in the next 3 months).

I have a special fondness for cards.  This will be a very special deck.  Love it.

Not sure if Facebook game invite is a mass invite or if I've been exclusively picked as an unimportant contact, here only as a potential +1 to a score.

This is both why I have Facebook set to email me when I authenticate with a new device AND why I have Facebook require 2-factor authentication. It's becoming common for iOS apps to create a fake Facebook login page that masks the real site so they can store your password and forward it on to Facebook (instead of using oauth... I know oauth blows: -- but it's better than storing passwords). And now, I delete your app.

Companies paying for users to access their content+ads? What a novel idea. This could change things quite a bit. When I was a kid, I could never make sense of the cable company charging customers to have access to something that the content providers would happily give away--and spend amazing amounts of money trying to get you to never stop watching. This takes ad delivery in the right direction. Next, they'll be paying users directly for consuming.

Had to post this story again from my youth--it's hard to retell and reread without tearing up with so many feelings. Unfortunately had a reason to dredge up the topic, now relating to a friend of my daughter instead of a friend of mine.
