I am reasonably confident that nobody sustained any retina damage today... We did get a nice little glimpse at the end though... #eclipse

His granddad is very pleased he got a glimpse of the eclipse at the end. He will have noticed how dark it got during the eclipse.

Thank you +Marc Wilson, looks like you have turned my son into an engineer... A lifetime of frustration shot through with moments of sheer joy awaits him...

Awesome!
He's not much younger than I was when I started picking up electronics from around the house and taking them apart. I never did get that intercom working again...

I know I can be a bit earnest sometimes, and I don't mean to be a downer, but this article captures very well why I get a bit depressed at this time of year...

"Are we so bored, so affectless, that we need to receive this junk to ignite one last spark of hedonic satisfaction? [...] To service this peculiar form of mental illness, we must wear down the knap of the Earth, ream the surface of the planet with great holes, fleetingly handle the products of that destruction then dump the materials into another hole."

And I can say that, whilst simultaneously knowing what watching Gil open and play with a Playmobil aeroplane that was nearly as big as he was, was one of the coolest moments of last year that'll stay with me for ever... Oh, the contractions...

Inspired by +David Singleton I took a timelapse of the sun rising over the back of our house... Turns out the android camera has a built in timelapse feature -- who knew?

Officially on the allotment shit-list. In the first shot, feeling a little under-resourced with only a pair of shears, a pregnant lady, and a four year old to help... That green roof in the background is / was our shed by the way... In the last shot: two beds have been reclaimed -- along with a bucket load of onions... That's what a rainy summer does for you.

Okay, I'm probably a bit nostalgic for this place but I still love the vampire bar downstairs... Excitingly grungy and studenty, with a wide range of slightly bizarre shots on offer... Their famous bloodshot (vodka, chilli, & garlic) is not for the faint-hearted. I went for a Harley Davidson Oil -- Jack Daniels & Yaegermeister -- nicer than it sounds.

Good value for a quick Thai meal -- very nice food and pleasant wood-lined interior.

My expectations were probably overly built up by the other reviews... This is definitely a cool little basement bar with a grungy feel to it. The cocktails were disappointingly average though -- watery & filled with crushed ice, the usual thing. Next time I'd just come here for a beer. Though the happy hour makes it reasonably good value.

One of my favourite bars in London, mainly due to a beautiful old school juke box, collection of 60's/70's music, and a low key mouth eaten vine. It can be unbearably crowded though and downstairs can smell very strongly of toilets. You have to want to live this place, but if you do there is much to love.

Good old style pub. Super friendly atmosphere, beers, occasional live music. Please don't ever change this place.
