Hurrah, Durham might be on the road to progress. Now to get rid of their NIMBY councillors who hold it back.
DEVELOPERS who have completed a multi-million pound deal to buy a shopping centre hope to open a new cinema and student accommodation on the site.

This certainly seems like the most feasible economic measure I've seen as of yet. Very impressive!

Hampshire cricket club players take part in an unusual training exercise: they play football ... while wrapped in giant inflatable bubbles. The contestants collide into each other as much as possible in order to get the ball and score a goal. Some of the players fall, only to bounce right back up

The Guardian: Let's admit it: Britain is now a developing country. http://google.com/newsstand/s/CBIwx8vwiQ4

OMG we're terrible.
No.
The rest of the world is developing, but out investment rate is too low admittedly. +The Guardian
We have iPads and broadband – but also oversubscribed foodbanks. Our economy is no longer zooming along unchallenged in the fast lane, but a clapped-out motor

I'd love to have a job where I can tell bare-faced lies. You must have some very creative Economists.

The problem with Facebook.

You'll never look at Facebook the same again after watching this video.

I can only dream of a day at Google (the bit where it all happens, as I expect this to be one small room) just asking questions.. or CERN.. any of the two.

So tablets are now going to be the most used electronic devices in the world according to latest analyst forecasts at UBS...  does this mean it's time to make them beautiful too? Is Themer going to make the jump to support Tablets too? There are some beautiful themes on MCS just waiting for their time to shine!

Story
Introduction
I'm reading Economics at Durham, and, for the mostpart, enjoying every second.

Teaching, coaching and doing swimming are my keenest interests, otherwise I like to go on nice, long bike rides on sunny days, and play some casual summer sports!

Since it changed hands to be a Libyan and Mediterranean restaurant, it's become so much better in terms of food taste and quality but the decor needs changing.

Not sure quite what the fuss is about... Admittedly Durham does have a plentiful supply of very nice cafés, but this is certainly not the best. Continental does the best breakfast and hot chocolates, Vennels does the best drinks and food otherwise.

Nothing special. Quite expensive for food compared to local restaurants in the area (even more so as a takeout!). Burgers and cod are below standard I expect (see Linford's Lincolnshire and any Seafare for my reference point!)

Beautiful breakfasts, very good value and the best hot drinks in Durham.

Pretty good for a Tesco (staff are actually quite friendly and helpful!). But it often runs out of fruit and vegetables early in the day.
