A great way to warm up on chilly winter days is with a hot bowl of chili! Check out this recipe for a paleo turkey chili. It pairs well with sweet potatoes or cauliflower rice! Another great option is to add beans to this turkey chili if you are following a diet that allows beans or use beans in place of the turkey for a vegan option.

Ingredients
2 lbs ground turkey
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 cup onion, minced
1 tablespoon garlic, minced
1 cup peppers, chopped in small pieces
1 cup carrots, chopped in small pieces
40 oz canned crushed tomatoes
1 tablespoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (omit for less spicy)
1 teaspoon pepper
2 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon turmeric
Optional:
2 cups steamed sweet potato noodles or cauliflower rice
Instructions
Heat oil in a pan. Cook turkey over medium high heat until browned, approximately 10 minutes
While turkey is browning, chop all vegetables + prepare spices.
Add browned turkey + all ingredients to the crockpot.
Stir all of the ingredients together in the crockpot until thoroughly mixed
Cook on low for 6 hours. Serve over steamed sweet potato noodles or cauliflower rice for a paleo/whole 30 option, or rice for non-paleo/whole 30 eaters!
Notes
Freezing this turkey chili: This recipe makes a lot of chili - so you can freeze it! Put in freezer safe containers + store! When ready to defrost microwave or heat in a pan
Substitutions: You can make this chili with ground beef or chicken instead of turkey. It is just as delicious!

"Inflammation may play a role in premature aging, periodontal disease, obesity, skin aging, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, cancer, irritable bowel syndrome, and inflammatory bowel diseases, such as Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, among many other chronic health concerns.
Antioxidant-rich diets appear to protect against stroke by preventing the circulation of oxidized fats in the bloodstream that may damage the sensitive walls of small blood vessels in the brain."

"If you are generally better at taking care of others than you are at taking care of yourself, I hope this article gives you some food for thought.

One of the biggest challenges we face in modern times is dealing with stress. The advances of technology have created even more stress, both good and bad. We live such fast-paced lives now, compared to even just one generation ago.

The key to dealing with stress and taking better care of yourself is to maintain a positive attitude. This is often easier said than done, so here are ten tips to make this season more manageable." -Dr. Micheal Kowalski
