Are you surprised by the food industry's manipulation of scientific research?

Here is more evidence on the sugar conspiracy.

A sugar industry trade group secretly paid for two Harvard studies in the 1960s that downplayed the role of sugar in coronary heart disease.

How do you explain the pleasure of running?

Science has a few interesting answers, and now even more reason for those yet to try it.

How to prevent medical errors that cost lives?

Record the errors (instead of covering them up) and let practitioners learn from them.

it goes without saying just how important health is to your well-being.

As for character traits, start with regular gratitude and curiosity.

"You’ll die faster without sleep than you will without food."

Skipping on sleep too much can ruin your work and life. Here's a quick reminder why sleep matters so much.

if you feel there's not enough time to do your work, then review your to-do list. Stress could also be getting in the way of your productivity, in which case we can help.

But always aim to get as much sleep as possible.

Chinese medicine sees the connection between your digestive and emotional health.

Our doctors would never reduce the illness to ‘it’s all in your head’. But there is a psychosomatic aspect to IBS. It’s a common diagnostic detail. Common, but often overlooked.

We're all familiar with anger. But it takes practice to know how to deal with it.

At our clinic we often see what anger does to people's health. It causes skin problems, insomnia, affects digestion and disturbs the Heart and Liver. It can lead to all sorts of health issues.

This article explains how to act on anger in a way that's productive, rather than destructive, to yourself and others.

Anger is the emotion that has come to saturate our politics and culture. Philosophy can help us out of this dark vortex

Dr Gong cured my tinnitus with 3 sessions of acupuncture and Chinese herbs. Last year I had lower back pain, which she cured also with acupuncture and herbal medicine. Again, it took around 3 weeks (3 sessions) of treatment.

I started having acupuncture and taking Chinese herbs about 18 months ago. In the first session the acupuncture made me feel significantly better, more calm and relaxed. My main reasons for having treatment were to combat the effects of large and multiple fibroids which were starting to have too many adverse symptoms and my only other course of action was a hysterectomy which I did not want. The acupucturists are very experienced and Dr Lily is really lovely and probably the most professional Chinese doctor in her field, she is a fully trained doctor and I do trust her opinion. The herbs and the acupuncture has a combined effect and my progress has been gradual but clearly very comprehensive and very effective. My fibroids have definitely shrunk and I feel so much better generally

I wouldn't rate it in anyway. First I ordered from a lady who is doing me massage the happy pills Acumedic Phytofotm which were meant to relieve stress, I had to take 3 of those twice a day, from the moment I start taking them I had nausea, lost of appetite, dizziness, tiredness, lost my concentration while driving and abnormal bowel movements, after 5 days I stopped them as I got scared. I asked for the ingredients and prescription, apparantly there were for people with heart disease and liver problem and only plants, no indications or possible side effects were given to me. Another thing I ordered 2 creams one Calendula and the other one Arnica and guess what they send me Arnica cream but the put the label of Calendula on the one which was supposed to be actually Calendula cream. I sent them 2 e-mails, never got back to me. I do not recommend these people at all!!!!

Dear Adriana, I know that we have exchanged multiple emails and we thank you for your comments but it is important for our reputation that we make public the following facts: 1. You have never had treatment from an AcuMedic practitioner or doctor. 2. You have never visited our clinic and you have never bought a herbal prescription from us. 3. You were seen by a different doctor working at a different practice who is not working for AcuMedic. 4. This doctor used our herbal extracts in your prescription and purchased them from us. 5. We cannot take responsibility for the suitability of this doctor’s prescription but we can assure you that the herbs prescribed can be used for many purposes and are very commonly used for stress. Please be aware that any TCM text refers to organs such as Heart and Liver as Zang Fu organs with a group of functions and NOT the anatomical organs. This is a very common confusion in the translation of Chinese Medicine. 6. It is illegal for anyone to write indications on any herbal ingredients as this would be viewed as making a health claim. We have provided you with a complete list of the plant extracts used in your prescription. 7. Regarding the creams, we cannot confirm if the cream was wrongly labelled until it has been returned and tested by our manufacturer. We have given you a full refund on these creams. 8. This review was written at the end of January but the first email that we received from you was at the beginning of February. We assume that the 2 emails that you refer to were sent to your doctor who does not work for AcuMedic and not to us. We take all complaints very seriously and we are sorry that you may have reacted to the herbal extracts but we find it unfair that you write a complaint when you have never had treatment at our clinic and felt it necessary to make this clear publicly. Sincerely, AcuMedic

I have been going to see Dr Lily for 8 years, and I can only begin to stay what a difference she has made to my life. I was 40, when I was having difficulty in conceiving my second child, after 2 years of trying. Within 2 months of seeing her, a fell pregnant and now have a beautiful second boy. A few years later, I had a chest infection which lasted through 10 months of coughing, 3 courses of antibiotics and sleepless nights. I again, as a second choice, I went to see Dr lily and one month later, it had completely cleared. Last year, I had preri menopausal changes in my system, and again, one month later all the symptoms have cleared. I now no longer see Dr Lily as a second choice, or a last resort. She is my first port of call and I trust her implicitly, as well as owe her my good health and wonderful family. Thank you so much, you are a godsend.

I recently went to AcuMedic to try their Herbal Facial and had such a lovely, relaxing experience. Before I went in I filled in a brief medical form and then once inside the room, Theresa the facialist, who was really lovely, sat down with me to discuss if I had any allergies and what might be best to use. The facial in total is an hour long treatment and uses products and a prescription herbal mask packed full of pure herbal extracts that are designed to stimulate tired and dull looking skin. Every part of the facial felt great, with the facial acupuncture in particular a real treat to experience and something that seemed to instantly 'lift' and revitalise my skin, whilst the jade roller felt so incredibly soothing. My very sensitive skin felt refreshed and cooled throughout which was a relief as sometimes I can suffer reactions, but I discussed this with Theresa beforehand and she made sure the products and techniques used were gentle enough. The result was possibly the best bit, with hydrated, plumped and smooth skin afterwards that lasted for quite a few days. Some of my blemishes also seemed to disappear and my overall complexion just looked so much more healthier and brighter. One of the great perks of having now gone to and experienced both Acumedic and Chinalife, is the great customer service and lovely people there. After the treatment I was kindly offered a complementary tea of my choice to take with me from the tea bar in Chinalife next door, something I definitely appreciated being the tea addict I am! All in all, it was a lovely experience that felt professional throughout and well worth the price, and I wouldn't hesitate coming back.
