On April 26, 2017, http://ow.ly/YTPH30betxD President Trump signed an Executive Order instructing the Department of the Interior to review national monuments designated under the Antiquities Act since 1996 that are larger than 100,000 acres in size, or where Interior Secretary Zinke determines the designation was made without adequate public outreach or support.

After visiting Canyon Mine March 18, Sierra Club’s Alicyn Gitlin claimed that water being sprayed over the holding ponds was drifting into the nearby national forest. This road takes you through some beautiful stretches of sandstone as well. Stopping to take pictures has to be done with caution as there are not many wide turnouts available to the camera aficionado such as I.

Large land mammals in the Madrean Sky Islands, like pumas and bears, travel across the different mountain ranges. It would be much more difficult for these animals to exchange genetic material with the wall in place, making their species more susceptible to disease over time.
