Google has published a new version of their Forms.
I understand now why they urged us to stop using forms for Acra reports storage. It may simply be just impossible with the new forms service.

Fortunately Google still offers the option to create "legacy forms" from within a spreadsheet. This will give us some time to transition to dedicated backends.

This means that in a very near future, support for Forms as reports storage will be completely removed from ACRA's API.

I'm still working on my backend proposition project, based on a full open stack. I'm planning to publish a first open source alpha version near mid February.

In the meantime, you can start using +Mathew Winters  appengine backend https://code.google.com/p/acra-reporter/ . It also looks very powerful and promising if GAE hosting is a valid option for you.

Can you just use Google Spreadsheet API to post to spreadsheets? It's easy.

I opt to create my custom servlet to receive crash reports from ACRA. I think that this is the best way to go, since you will not depend any more from external tools.

Really, Bugsense is the best free Acra hosting for newbie developers. It was so simple and easy, highly recommend.

There should still be an option like Google docs available for small apps, which, for example, don't even have a backend... Google docs is a very nice feature.
