How are diabetes and gum disease related? Diabetes reduces the body’s resistance to infection and slows down healing process. This is why oral infections tend to be more severe in people with diabetes. Moreover, people with uncontrolled diabetes tend to have more oral health problems. This is because uncontrolled diabetes impairs leukocytes (white blood cells), the body’s primary defense against infections. However regular check-ups at the dentist might help diagnose the problem at an early stage and prevent it from becoming bigger. Here at #AcharyaDental we follow the concept of Preventive Dentistry - we educate patients on proper ways of maintaining their dental health and taking preventive measures to maintain good oral hygiene.

If hot or cold foods make you wince, you may have a common dental problem- sensitive teeth. Sensitivity in your teeth can happen for several reasons, such as tooth decay, fractured teeth, worn fillings, gum disease, worn tooth enamel, exposed tooth root. Sensitive teeth can be treated. We at #AcharyaDental may recommend desensitizing toothpaste or an alternative treatment based on the cause of your sensitivity. Make sure you maintain proper oral hygiene to prevent tooth-sensitive pain.

Do you know what type of braces is well suited for you? You may want to weigh quite a few factors in this decision, including cost, durability and length of time to wear the braces. For example, ceramic and tooth colored braces are popular because they blend in with the color of your teeth. They are also strong and don't stain easily. But on the other hand, they are more expensive than metal braces. Metal braces are more durable than other options and will help you reach the end result faster than the other options. Above these options, there are invisible aligners like ClearPath and Invisalign. This is suggested for those with minor orthodontic issues and are very comfortable. Each person's orthodontic issues might vary differently, so it's advisable to make an appointment with us at #AcharyaDental to discover what will work best for you.

It has been demonstrated through research that a signficant number of poeple in the world experience tooth sensitivity which can come and go over a period of time. The most common cause of tooth sensitivity is enamel loss or receeding gums, where the dentin becomes exposed. The exposed dentin can be painful, because changes in temperature and intake of certain foods and beverages can directly irritate the nerve endings present in the tooth. Visit us at #AcharyaDental to learn how to prevent tooth sensitivity.

Scaling and root planing refers to periodontal therapy better known as deep cleaning. It is the process of removing inflammation causing dental plaque and calculus from beneath the gums. It is one of the most effective ways of treating gum disease in it's early stages. Ultrasonic tools are used in this process and the patient is usually given local anesthesia during the process. Oral hygiene is key to maintaining the health of your gums. Learn more about preventive dentistry at #AcharyaDental

There are some lifestyle changes you can make to get healthier teeth. Dental check-up beyond the occasional visits can be painful, time consuming and costly. Changing our diet slightly will influence your oral health to a great extent. Some changes that we can implement to improve your dental health are:
1) Switch from sugary sodas to sparkling water and fruit. A lot of what you love about soda can be had with this much healthier alternative.
2) Order water with every drink you buy. Water is great for your teeth and mouth. Water can prevent sugary drinks from lingering and causing bad breath and tooth decay, and it will help keep teeth from staining.
3) Phase out chewy candies for hard sweets. Sugar isn’t necessarily bad for you; it’s the acids that are created when the bacteria in your mouth break down sugar
4) Switch to sugar free chewing gum. This is one of the easiest ways to avoid too much sugar, especially if you chew gum a lot.
Make an appointment with us at ‪#‎AcharyaDental‬ and learn about consuming the right foods to maintain your oral health

We have been visiting Acharya Dental Clinic for nearly three decades. We have been receiving best dental treatment , all these years.I never knew that tooth extraction could be such painless and bloodless procedure. I am grateful to Dr. Acharya and her excellent team for the treatment we have received at this clinic. In the month of January, I had to undergo extraction of several tooth, including the front two. I was scared and worried about how horrible I will look like without the front tooth. But Dr.Acharya with her deft hands and vast experience, made me feel comfortable and confident by providing accurate denture. Now I can smile with confidence. I strongly recommend my friends & relatives to avail of the best dental treatment in India.
