"All the technology in the DyFly has come off of our fans and hoovers and that" explained glasses-wearing boffin, Anthony Plugcomputer, to the rival news website where we got this story. "It's basically just four of those nice fans with the hole in them, attached to a small chassis. Is that how you pronounce it? Chassis. Anyway, you just turn the fans up really high and off you go, like an eagle in a helicopter."

More Dyson technology is found within: the car is steered using one of those fancy Dyson taps with the Airblade bits at the side, and by incorporating the air filters from Dyson's new Pure Cool Link fans, the DyFly actually purifies the air it drives through.

Experts are already saying the DyFly will revolutionise everything. "Because it's got those fans with the holes in them, you could probably have a car park that was just four big sticks or something," explained YouTube commentor Cars_Are_C001, "and because it sucks all the tiny insects out of the air, you no longer have to worry about what's laying its eggs in your hair."

Some remarkable projects were shown at the #iREX exhibition in #Japan, recently. There were #robots lifting cars, powered exoskeletons, which help people raise heavy objects, and #humanoid rescue robots to name just a few of them. Which of them do you expect to see in use publicly soon? #Technology http://gizmodo.com/creepy-beautiful-helpful-badass-here-come-futuristi-1746645442

Now there's a robot that can solve a Rubik's cube in under two seconds — 1.196 seconds, to be exact.

In the new movie The Martian, botanist Mark Watney (played by Matt Damon) is stranded on Mars. The only way to survive is to figure out how to grow potatoes on the freeze-dried planet.
