Public Radio's A Way with Words Returns to Dallas!

Encore Performance benefits Aberg Center for Literacy A Way with
Words, the lively call-in public radio show about words and how we
use them, is coming to Dallas.  Featuring the radio show's hosts
Martha Barnette and Grant Barrett, the event at the Majestic Theater
will benefit Aberg Center for Literacy.

Moderated by Krys Boyd, host of KERA 90.1 FM's midday talk show
Think, the performance will spotlight Martha and Grant's wise and
witty insights on language, its roots and idiosyncrasies. The evening
will include a question and answer exchange with the audience.

A Way with Words airs Saturdays at 1 p.m. on KERA 90.1 FM. KERA is a media sponsor for the event. To inquire about becoming an event

Tickets to A Way with Words at the Majestic: An Intimate Evening with Martha and Grant, are $42.50 or $62.50 and are be available here.

Tomorrow is North Texas Giving Day, and your generous donation of $25 (from 6am to midnight Thursday) or more will be amplified to help support Aberg Center successes like these:
• Health, financial and computer classes were added for the 2013-14 school year.
• 40 students passed the GED test in 2013 and received certificates of completion of high school.
• 164 adults and 31 children participated in 2013-14 in Aberg Center’s English fluency, Spanish and English GED preparation, early childhood education and family literacy programs 
• Our new Early Childhood Education Program engages children in daily physical development, sensory discrimination, language acquisition and literacy activities while their parents attend classes.

Aberg Center for Literacy and Cathedral Arts are partnering together to host a joint OPEN HOUSE to celebrate North Texas Giving Day.  Stop by, enjoy refreshments and make your donation while you are here.

See firsthand how your money is put into action. Come and experience GED, ESL and Family Literacy classes in action from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. 

Cathedral Arts will have the Carlos Cazares “Cycle of the Fig Tree” exhibit open until 6:00 p.m.
