For Dyslexia Awareness Week, Overlays! will be free until 11/9. Download now!

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/overlays!/id868499627?mt=12

Also, if you missed it, OpenDyslexic version 3 has been released, and is available here: http://gum.co/OpenDyslexic

It's still free, licensed under SIL-OFL, and the source code will be published shortly.
Get Overlays! on the Mac App Store. See screenshots and ratings, and read customer reviews.

Google moving code out of Open Source Android Project

http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2013/10/googles-iron-grip-on-android-controlling-open-source-by-any-means-necessary/

I am not sure if this is a good or a bad thing.

With more of Google services going closed source it means manufacturers are less likely to screw around with Google's apps. I don't know about you but I have never find the added programs or features from manufactures that good? If anything they are annoying as they clutter up your app draw.

Google's strategy does mean you can still port newer android versions to devices long abandoned by the manufacturer.

I am leaning towards it being a good thing.

If you are anything like me, sometimes you need to follow a line of text in a book with a bookmark or index card. Sometimes, you can even find a colored overlay to help you keep your focus while reading.

Overlays! helps with that. It runs on Windows and MacOS, and both versions are included for the same low price of $4.99.

Email me from a .edu or a school domain for a discount.

You can now use OpenDyslexic in many more iOS 7 apps. :)
Happy Holidays! This Holiday Season, I have a special treat for you. The all time #1 request/question for OpenDyslexic has been some form of “can I get this on my iPad/iPhone?” The answer used to require jailbreaking (thanks to iPhoneRuler,…Read more ›

Possibly. Prevents the awkward "dm me, oh wait I'm not following you let me follow you and dm me in a sec"
Maybe better off as an option.

Twitter now lets you receive direct messages from any follower. Good?

Absolutely unhelpful. Demanding. Snotty. Sounded like they didn't want to be at work. Criticized my questions. Kept finding excuses for me not to use them. Nothing like the NH AAA agents that are helpful, and nice.
