Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab has signed a cooperation agreement with Japan International Cooperation Agency and Pratham, a global education charity, to enhance education in parts of Africa. Fady Jameel, President of Community Jameel International comments: "J-PAL’s pioneering education research with Pratham in India, the ‘Teaching at the Right Level’ program and now its scale-up in Zambia, are helping to improve learning outcomes for millions of children around the world." Abdul Latif Jameel and Kosei Aluminum recently signed an MoU with the National Industrial Clusters Development Program (NICDP), driving foreign investment into Saudi Arabia’s auto manufacturing sector. Long-term plans for the venture include a landmark new factory in Saudi Arabia, as a global hub for Kosei. The volume of wheels produced will represent a significant world market share, with the manufacturing plant investment expected to generate significant employment opportunities. A new report from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has highlighted the ongoing challenges of food security across the MENA region. 'Agricultural Outlook 2018-2027' says that increasing food demand and limited land and water resources will "lead to rising import dependence for basic food commodities".
