stepping through the doors of the refurbished abbey theatre provides for mixed emotions. the walls harbour paintings of ireland's favourite playwrights who have poured not simply their talent but every emotion imaginable onto the stage. you will experience fear, pride, deception, awe and contentment in this theatre. there will never be another space in dublin that flows with such excitement!

The home of Dublin theatre for me. Have seen dozens of great plays here. If you're looking for a place with solid theatre in Dublin, the Abbey's my recommendation.

An institution in Dublin. Been treating myself to a play here every now and then since I was young. Excellent theatre.

the first floor foyer floor is for to die for. actually the whole place has a rarefied ar]tmoshpere which provides a rather exclusive ambience. the theatre itself is well laid out and democratic in its seating arrangement.
