Southwark Underground Station, London, England

Wow what an exciting day! Little bit of a roller coaster but I will tell you about that in a minute.

This is a photo I have uploaded before but I had quite a few recommendations to try it in a 1:1 square crop and I must admit I don't know why I didn't. Sometimes you can be focused on one way of editing a photo you can sometimes miss the obvious. I do like the original crop but this is far superior, many thanks to those who suggested I did it!

Anyway, the reason why I am excited is that I have managed to bag two tickets to have a tour around two London Underground Ghost stations as part of London Transport Museum Hidden London celebrations!! One is of the old Jubilee Line platforms at Charing Cross station and the other, well strictly not a station but linked to the station, is the Underground Bunkers at Clapham South Station, this is the one that I am most excited about. I saw these tickets only couple of days ago and knew demand will be massive so went online at 10am this morning to find that most had a ready been sold to members of the Transport Museum prior to general release. I was quite despondent with this but I kept looking and got lucky and managed to find a day and time for Clapham South. I then signed up to the waiting list for Charing Cross tour and 2 minutes later, an email appeared and I got that ticket too. One minute I thought I wasn't getting anything and then getting both tickets I wanted.

I am so excited about these and having been on the Aldwych Station Tour and Brunel Thames Tunnel tour these are generally very well organised by the London Transport Museum and I can't wait!

Did any of you get tickets? You may still be able to get tickets on the link below

http://www.ltmuseum.co.uk/whats-on/hidden-london

Remember to click on the 'Sold Out' button and put yourself down on the waiting list for the days you want, you might get lucky!

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Liverpool Museum, Liverpool, England

This is an image of the wonderful staircase inside the Liverpool Museum in Liverpool. You don't get the sense of scale of how big this spiral staircase is in this image, well I certainly didn't until I visited.

I have not been out with the camera lately, not as much as I wanted to but hopefully in the next couple of months I will get out with it. I have got a trip to Venice and Devon booked so really looking forward to them. Any hints on places to photograph whilst I am visiting them? Please let me know if you know of any.

Another reason I have not got out with the camera much is the fact I have been working hard on my relaunched website. I am planning to do more blog posts on here compared to my old website. I generally get asked quite a bit on which stations are best to photograph on the London Underground so I am thinking of doing a little location guide for certain stations which I hope will be helpful. I also have a couple of Photographer interviews lined up in the next couple of weeks which I am looking forward to sharing with you all. In the meantime, feel free to have an explore of my new website, I would be interested to see what you all think.

A Landscape, Architecture and Urban Photographer from North Yorkshire, England.
Introduction

My name is Aaron and I am based in the stunning county of North Yorkshire having just moved from Hertfordshire. My passion for photography started back in 2009 when I took a trip to New York. I took along my ‘Point and Click’ camera but when I got back to the UK I was so disappointed with the images of the iconic landmarks in New York and so because of this I went out and bought my first DSLR.

The type of photography that I enjoy revolves around the urban and city environment and its stunning, often unnoticed architecture. I find myself photographing a lot of stations, building interiors and spiral staircases in cities around the UK and Europe.

Over the last couple of years I have had my images printed and had articles written in several national photographic magazines including Amateur Photographer Magazine, Digital SLR Magazine and Digital Camera Magazine. My top achievements to date are 3rd place overall in the Amateur Photographer of the Year Competition 2013, Runner Up in the Lines of the Landscape award in Landscape Photographer of the Year 2011 and more recently receiving Commended in the Architecture Category Sony World Photography Awards 2014.

I am always keen to learn and try new photography techniques and always look forward to exploring new architecture and cities!
