Bank-Monument Underground Station, London, England

Busy weekend just gone for me. On Saturday I was busy photographing a wedding with fellow Mark Hepples, got some good photos too and also gave me the chance to try out the awesome Sony A7S which we both hired out! May share a couple of photos with you all sometime.

Anyway, this is an old photo and reworked photo. One of my favourite stations on the London Underground network to photograph although I am sure people who use it on a daily basis for commuting would probably disagree with me as it does get horrendously busy at peak times and often platforms have to be closed off until crowding eases!

Luckily I got a quiet day when I took this photo, something that doesn't happen very often. I am planning on going down to London this week sometime all being well and looking forward to getting some photos of the new tunnel at Canary Wharf Crossrail station and also at the same time get my new medium format Film camera serviced whilst I down there too.

I hope you are all having a stunning Monday.

Whilst I am still working through my Venice images I thought I would share with you all an image I took at the start of the year, the opening of the brand new staircase at the Wellcome Collection.

This staircase didn't fail to disappoint and I really enjoyed taking photos of it, the staff even encouraged it so big thumbs up there!

Not the easiest of staircases to photograph as I would have liked to get in the middle of centre part of the staircase to look directly up but I am sure me clambering around aa brand new staircase may not go down to well ;-).

Well I have just got back from a great weekend in Venice, my first time in Venice and it was stunning, way better then I was expecting.

I got a few photos but planned to just relax and take in the atmosphere. For those who have been before would probably agree with me but if you walk everywhere and explore the city there is always something different and new around every corner in Venice, its not like any other city I have been before. Very much more relaxing, probably due to the lack of cars and noisy public transport.

This is the first photo I'd like to share with you all and I know its a bit of a cliche shot from Venice but I just like it so much. You should have seen the queue of photographers behind me wanting to get where I was when taking this image! Always best to get there early :-).

Oh in other news, I have just bought my first ever medium format film camera, a Yashica 124G Twin Reflex Camera. Film photography is something I have wanted to get into more. The idea of having a finite amount of photos to take really appeals to me and I am planning to do a mini project with it but whether it will work or not is another thing as I think a lot of learning is required on how to get the best out of film cameras.

Hope your having a great week so far.

A Landscape, Architecture and Urban Photographer from North Yorkshire, England.
Introduction

My name is Aaron and I am based in the stunning county of North Yorkshire having just moved from Hertfordshire. My passion for photography started back in 2009 when I took a trip to New York. I took along my ‘Point and Click’ camera but when I got back to the UK I was so disappointed with the images of the iconic landmarks in New York and so because of this I went out and bought my first DSLR.

The type of photography that I enjoy revolves around the urban and city environment and its stunning, often unnoticed architecture. I find myself photographing a lot of stations, building interiors and spiral staircases in cities around the UK and Europe.

Over the last couple of years I have had my images printed and had articles written in several national photographic magazines including Amateur Photographer Magazine, Digital SLR Magazine and Digital Camera Magazine. My top achievements to date are 3rd place overall in the Amateur Photographer of the Year Competition 2013, Runner Up in the Lines of the Landscape award in Landscape Photographer of the Year 2011 and more recently receiving Commended in the Architecture Category Sony World Photography Awards 2014.

I am always keen to learn and try new photography techniques and always look forward to exploring new architecture and cities!
