The news broke Friday, but JPMorgan’s $5.1 billion payment to settle charges it misled Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac during the housing boom was perfectly made for Saturday Night Live. Specifically, the “Really!?!” segments Seth Meyers and Amy Poehler made famous on Weekend Update. As in: Really!?! Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were helpless victims [...]

It’s no surprise that former Vice President Al Gore isn’t a fan of big oil. The stronger-than-expected upward revision reaffirmed consensus expectations the Fed will begin “tapering” at its next meeting in September. But Chris Rupkey, chief financial economist at Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, isn’t so sure a September tapering is baked in just yet. [...]

Al Gore's worth $200 million, so what's he investing in next? http://yhoo.it/1bFwlki
Al Gore’s attempts to buy Twitter, the social media darling and soon-to-be public company, in 2009 failed. But the former Vice President is now an investor with a financial stake in Nest, possibly the hottest Silicon Valley start-up (after Twitter). The Nest Learning Thermostat is a “smart" product that can digitally adjust the temperature of [...]
