Missing my "brownie bite flight" from Dandelion Chocolate in the mission neighborhood in San Francisco a lot today.

Interesting, if short, +Motorola Mobility event about the upcoming #Moto360 watch. They wouldn't say anything about the price or battery life -- two critical details. But they did disclose that it will work with any Android phone running Android 4.3 or later, will be water resistant and have changeable bands. It will not have a camera and charging is a mystery as it has no USB port or contact pins. It looked pretty cool, maybe a little thicker than expected. It can be worn on either wrist, too.

I have no doubt Motorola will get the battery life at a decent level.

And so before it hardly got out of diapers, that slick pirated video fron end app, Popcorn Time, shut down.

I don't think the tech market is in a bubble but here's one stock that definitely is. Castlight Health, a tiny cloud healthcare information service with $13 million of revenue last year, just started trading at a valuation fo $3.5 BILLION. INSANE!
Thursday night, Wall Street priced the craziest deal since the heights of the Internet bubble, Castlight Health, and almost no one complained a peep. valued at $1.4 billion on revenues of just $13 million last year, Castlight proves that investors in cloud Internet services have hit bubble territory.

While everyone seems to be freaking about the $19 billion Facebook will pay for WhatsApp, the real question is what buying the messaging app does for the company. My view? A whole lot of nothing. There is no benefit to being a mini-conglomerate of separate mobile apps with conflicting business models.

Mini review of the Fujifilm X series 27mm F2.8 pancake lens: very small and light, sharp and quick focusing, usable in pretty low light if you crank the ISO. I picked mine up on super sale at Amazon. Questions?

I had a mostly manual Canon AT-1 film camera for most of my life (received as a bar mitzvah present in 1979 and retired it in 2004) and this is the first camera I've had since that brings me back to the feelings of control and artistry and fun that kept me interested in photography all those years.

Introduction
I'm a Boston-based reporter for Yahoo Finance covering technology companies and trends, though the opinions expressed here are solely my own.

I used to blog about gadgets and software and provide my own commentary on tech topics of interest at GravitationalPull.net. It's still hanging around for posterity's sake.

I've been a professional journalist, covering mainly business and technology, for the past 20-plus years. I'm also a suburban dad, avid reader (and Kindle-owner), cyclist and Red Sox fan. And I'm 25% smarter and 112% happier thanks to my wife Whitney Connaughton.
