IDEAA Udacity scholarships!
Very exciting news.  If you have ever wanted to dip your toe into the world of Android development now is the time!!

Start with the beginner course, learn more at the #babbq2015  then complete the nanodegree on +Udacity!  Who knows in less than a year you could be starting a new career.  Maybe you could lead one of the sessions at the 2016 Big Android BBQ

There are still tickets available at http://bigandroidbbq.com.  It's not just for expert developers it's for anyone with passion, drive, a desire to have fun with others.  There is no event that embodies the Android motto of "Be together, not the same" like Big Android BBQ.

This was a lot of fun to make.  Don't miss the 2015 Big Android BBQ.  The only place you get to see +Timothy Jordan's HAT live and in person.

HELP WANTED - warning, long post....

After years of putting on a very successful annual Android Developer and enthusiast conference in Dallas, Texas - The +Big Android BBQ  - a small group led by +Aaron Kasten decided to form +IDEAA  as the parent organization and expand our events across the United States...and beyond.

Our goal is to keep developers on the cutting edge through training and exposure to some of the best and brightest minds in the industry. Additionally, we are dedicated to reducing the barriers to entry for all demographics by providing beginner training that encourages and incentivizes learning through a series of code challenges.

So far this year we've put on two extremely successful events: DC in April and Seattle this past weekend. We are now laser focused on executing another successful Big Android BBQ in Dallas (#6!) on October 22-23. Come November, we will also be heading to Amsterdam for our first event in Europe.

That's where YOU come in. IDEAA is a 501c3 non-profit and needs support from talented people to continue it's success.

Please comment on this post or message me directly if you would like to help. Experience is preferred but not required. We have a lot of fun on our teams but also work very hard.

Some of our most pressing needs are:

- Communications: 1-2 creative writers to help with news updates and website content. 2 creative types that can help maintain our social networks.

- Engineering: 2 Front end Web developers ((HTML5, CSS3, Javascript & JQuery, responsive design experience is a plus but not necessary)
Back end .NET/C Sharp developer - maintain and upgrade current .NET backend to support existing app plus requested enhancements. Experience with Azure portal a huge plus.
Go/AppEngine developer - convert existing .NET back end over to Go/App Engine and off Azure (.NET experience a plus with this one but probably not necessary)

- Sponsorship: 2 sponsorship managers to contact and follow up with potential partners and sponsors. Sales and sponsorship experience would be a huge benefit. Industry contacts and knowledge is a must.

- Events: 2 Assistant Project Managers to coordinate volunteer teams onsite at events and ensure proper communication flow between leaders and volunteers. Previous event volunteer management would be a big plus.

- Creative: 1 Interior/Set Designer to focus on building memorable on-theme experiences for attendees in our event spaces.

There are some great benefits to working with IDEAA: travel, SWAG, experience and possible job opportunities! (Several past volunteers have landed awesome jobs due in no small part to the experience working in this organization).

Thanks for reading and I look forward to hearing from you!

**if you think this sounds familiar, it is. +Aaron Kasten posted something similar to this yesterday and I liberally plagiarized is words :)

If you want to chat about where you might fit in, let us know and join the hangout.

Meet with leaders of IDEAA to see if volunteering is right for you.

If you would like to join the hangout ask in the comments.  We're going to rotate 1 - 2 at a time depending on how many requests we receive.

The fries are great, burgers are delicious and well priced. Good beer at a great price too. So far I've enjoyed the buffalo and wine country burgers. The crispy parmesean truffle fries are a must have.

Decent burger nothing extraordinary though. The fries are nice hand-cut but needed to be fried for another couple of minutes. Service was quick despite previous reviews and there was nothing wrong with our order. Server was friendly and efficient considering how busy the place was.

I used to eat here all the time, it was our go to local tex mex place. That was until we found one of those little roaches (you know the kind that means you have an infestation) floating in one of our drinks. Sadly I can never return. Fortunately I have found Mi Pueblo, down the road a bit, to be a superior restaurant all around now.
