On my desk is a brand new, unopened LG G Watch in white. I was lucky enough to be given this but have no use for it currently so I'd like to pass it on to someone who will make good use of it.

If you'd like me to post this to your home address, absolutely free of charge then reshare this post. Whoever has the most direct public reshares (i.e. whosever reshare is reshared the most) will win the watch. For free. No kidding. Happy New Year.

//rant on//
It's no secret I like #Microsoft products.  I wouldn't consider myself a fanboy by any means, but I do like them... XBox user since the beta days, MS OS all the way back to the DOS 1.x days, MS DSS80, wireless phone system, etc. to name a few.  But today's rant has to do with my recent Windows installation $%$^%$^ disaster.
For a little background, I consider myself an "expert" - I have been doing IT for almost 40 years, and I am a MS MCSE.  BUT OMG I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO INSTALL WINDOWS ON MY FRIGGIN PC FOR TWO THREE DAYS.  Nobody in there right mind (which tells you where I am right about now) would do this.
I bought two Windows 8 upgrade keys back in the end of 2012/beginning of 2013...  they were a great deal - $39 and you got the Media Center kit for free.  But I was nowhere ready to install Windows 8 on my main machine - Windows 7 Pro works great.  In that time I have purchased a Surface Pro as well as set up a couple other systems virtually to play with the various features.  In the meantime, as is usually the case with Windows OS based machines, my Win7 Pro machine is getting to that point where it takes what seems like an hour to boot up and be ready to run.  Once running, it's great.  I could just leave it on, which I sometimes do in the Winter, as it make for a decent heat source for my little home office.  In the summer time, not so good.  Anyone who has used a Windows 8 systems know they boot up in record time - my Surface Pro takes 8-10 second from a cold power up.  Nice.
Sooo, in my infinite wisdom, I decided to install Win 8 on my main PC... but I am not doing the upgrade thing as that often time results in a ... less than desirable.. environment and is much harder to recover from if something goes awry.  So I purchased a new 240GB SSD drive, and decided to install fresh, preserving my Win 7 boot and data drives.  Spent some time tracking down the install DVD I had made back in 2012, and proceeded to install.  This went rather smoothly and amazingly fast.  You enter your key during installation and the install continues automagically after that.
Of course, Windows 8 wasn't all that polished in my opinion when it came out of the gate.  It was awkward getting around for someone used to classic Windows and no touchscreen.  What I really wanted was Windows 8.1, which is much more refined and easy to use.  To get there, of course, you have to install all the Windows 8 updates first.... really?  Plus your system needs to be activated with a valid key.  No problem, I own two of them, and I've already entered one of them during installation. Except it doesn’t like it.  Nor the other one.  I keep installing updates and rebooting until it's finally install all available Windows 8 updates.  Try the activation thing again, it fails with some cryptic code that even google can't render a reasonable link for.  But, there is a "Call Support" button that I can press.  Pressing this magical little button brings up a phone number for an automated activation center, as well as displaying a bunch of numbers at the bottom of the screen (either 8 or 10 sets of 6 digits, I forget exactly).  You call the number and get to punch these numbers in.  Walla, system activated.  Sweet.  OK, install Windows 8.1 and bam, I'm finished. Crap... only 3.2GB of my 8GB RAM is usable.... I had installed the 32bit version.  Time to start over....
So I never made or ever got a 64bit version of the install disk.  I can't find a place on Microsoft's site to download it.  Oh, they gladly sell me another one.  So, I have access to the install files at work, I'll just download the ISO, make a disk, and use it to install my 64bit version of Windows 8.  You would think in this day and age that the installer could differentiate between an "enterprise" version and a regular "pro" version with the entry of the key.  Nope. So that didn’t work.
So, I own a valid version of Windows 7 Pro for this particular PC that I purchased several years ago.  Of course, I have moved in that time, and it's packed in a box somewhere. Several hours of going through boxes, and I found it.  So I installed Windows 7 Pro, and then proceeded to install Windows 8 from the saved email link I had from my Windows 8 purchase.  That went fairly smoothly.
So, like I stated earlier, Windows 8.1 is where I really want to be.  But, you still need all those damn updates before you install all new files over the top of them, so I proceeded to do just that. Several hours later (not sure why this is taking so darn long), I head to bed - it'll be done in the morning.
I get up the next morning, and much to my surprise, but 125+ updates are still needing to be applied. Swell.  Start the updates, go off to exercise.  Come back, system almost ready to restart,  Hallelujah.
Except, after a couple of reboots, I look at the blue before-the-OS-loads update installation screen and it states:
Failure configuring Windows updates
Reverting changes
Do not turn off your computer.
 Son of a biscuit eater,…

So, in the mean time, to blow off some steam - I am writing this on my Asus Chromebox using Microsoft Word Online.  #Microsoft, this is crap.  It should not be such a pita to install and to activate a Windows OS.  I installed Linux on my Intel NUC in about 15 minutes.  Mac OSX - pretty much download and install it and be up and running within the hour.  And Chrome - if you ever do need to re-install it (usually only if you are hacking dual OS's on it) takes only minutes.
I understand you don't want people stealing your product - I am 100% behind you on that,  But come on, make it a little easier on those of us who are fans of your products.

Since the v5.x firmware for the Moto 360 watch seems to be so hit or miss on who is getting it, I thought it might be fun to see if we can see a trend.  So I created a poll: http://goo.gl/forms/p2nbZu0nkV
