We had quite a bit of snow for Southern Oklahoma! It's all melted now though - looking at an ice storm this weekend.

I loved eating 돈까스 at the cafeterias in Seoul! We would go to E-mart and eat at the big cafeteria. I would almost always order 치즈돈까스 and share it with my husband. I will have to make this as a treat! Thank you Maangchi!

On Kauai we had a local chain of restaurants called KCL - Korean, Chinese, and local food.  I have had donkkaseu many times.  Delicious stuff!  They just called it port cutlet, though.

I reviewed a great Korean phrasebook from Tuttle Publishing and they are letting me give away 3 copies.

http://thesetemporarytents.com/2015/02/26/survival-korean-language-phrasebook-review-giveaway/
When I first moved to Korea, I knew the basic alphabet and a few phrases from listening to podcasts online. It took me a while to feel comfortable even trying to communicate in Korean past the basic hellos and thank you’s. But when we started exploring and travelling more – there were times when I [...]

Adorable Groot is adorable. I need to get crocheting! I've got a little guy turning 5 in a couple weeks that would love this.

Korra the #Havanese  is very proud of her ability to roll over for treats. She even does it without us asking.

We got everything we needed to get started with #encaustic  painting for Christmas! I couldn't hardly wait to clear off the table and test out our new tools. We're just getting started, but I'm looking forward to trying new projects and techniques with the girls.

Our new homeschool art project is encaustic painting. Come see how we melt wax to make art!

I saw some of this kind of artwork in an art store one time. It is a very interesting medium.

He wrote his name in Greek and English. Seems fitting. #futurecaesar

Now he actually can write in 3 alphabets - but he knows Korean the best because that is what he saw every day for 2 years.

I am giving away 3 copies of this handy phrasebook! We took it with us on our backpacking trip in the interior mountains and it was invaluable.

The Cook family are not just homeschoolers but unschoolers. They don’t prefer homeschooling simply because they find most schools too test-obsessed or underfunded or otherwise ineffective. They believe that the very philosophical underpinnings of modern education are flawed.

I found this very informative. I for one am tired of watching my children being taught how to take tests to help ensure school funding and not being taught real knowledge!

This online course has a variety of question types (not just multiple choice) that adapt as the student masters the topics. Testing and grading are all automated. And it bridges the gap between elementary and upper level math.

The video lessons are energetic, informative, and brief. Kids don't have to sit through an hour lecture, but if they miss a concept they can go back and do a lesson again and again.

I am so excited to be sharing UnLock Math: Pre-Algebra today! A lot of homeschool parents get nervous about upper-level math. I think one of those reasons is that we ourselves did not do well in math, or we haven’t used the concepts in our lives and so our skills are a bit rusty. The [...]

I lost the motivation to blog after we got so busy settling in here in Oklahoma. A new year means a new start, and looking back on what I've accomplished helps me see that I love sharing our journey. So here are the top ten most visited blog posts of 2014!

http://thesetemporarytents.com/2015/01/06/top-ten-posts-2014/
Welcome to 2015! This past year I felt as if my blog took a slow turn when we returned to the US after living abroad. Our lives were not as exciting, not as interesting, and my motivation for blogging kind of left. Settling down here in Oklahoma has taken a lot out of us; not [...]

Introduction
I currently write for Natural Family Today and These Temporary Tents and I create funky crafts from thrift store finds.

I am a Christian Unschooling mom and I volunteer my time at our local homeschool group and church.  I love to read, crochet, write, and quilt.

My husband, oldest daughter, and I also enjoy playing Magic: The Gathering.  We mostly play Legacy and now Modern.  Jay and I host a weekly podcast on Mtgcast.com  called Fatal Flaw.

We also were recently re-introduced into RPG's and enjoy playing those as a family and in gaming circles as well.
