Humana Inc., one of the country’s leading health and well-being companies, today announced plans to add more than 170 Telesales Specialists to its Direct Marketing Services (DMS) Telesales workforce in Phoenix.
The jobs will support Humana’s Direct Marketing Services (DMS) call center at 2231 E. Camelback Road, Phoenix. The company is hosting a Job Fair on Thursday, June 23 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the DMS call center, conveniently located in the Biltmore. Interviews will be conducted on-site during the job fairs, so interested candidates should bring several copies of their current resume.
The telesales positions will provide national phone sales and enrollment assistance for Humana’s Medicare benefit plans and senior products as well as specialty products. These consumer advocate positions will directly handle inquiries and provide guidance to help new and existing Humana members nationwide find benefit solutions to meet their needs.
Humana, a Fortune 100 company, is adding these jobs in order to meet the demand of the upcoming annual Medicare open enrollment period from Oct. 15 to Dec. 7, 2016. These positions will include approximately 45 full-time jobs with comprehensive benefits, and nearly 130 seasonal positions that will offer mostly full-time work for up to six months.
Humana pays for telesales associates to obtain their Arizona health insurance license, and also provides in-depth certification and sales training for new hires.
“Humana offers a great working environment with competitive salaries,” said Alex Vila, Humana’s Phoenix DMS Leader. “Our associates enjoy coming to work every day and helping Medicare beneficiaries find the right plan that meets their health and well-being needs.”
Humana is seeking to fill these positions immediately with starting dates ranging from June 3 to July 15. To apply online, visit careers.humana.com.  Enter requisition number 159659 for full-time positions, or 160327 for seasonal positions.
Humana has been named in the Top 10 Best Places to Work for Extra-Large Employers (1,000-plus employees) by the Phoenix Business Journal for the past three years. The Biltmore location features an on-site gym and café and is walking distance to popular restaurants.
Currently, Humana employs more than 2,500 associates in Arizona.

The Thunderbirds, hosts of the Waste Management Phoenix Open Presented by The Ak-Chin Indian Community, have named Andy Markham Tournament Chairman for the 2017 edition of “The Greatest Show on Grass”, which will be played January 30 – February 5, 2017, at TPC Scottsdale.  Additionally, The Thunderbirds announced that Carlos Sugich has been named Assistant Tournament Chairman for the 2017 tournament.
Markham will lead the Thunderbirds in the planning and execution of every facet of the 2017 tournament, including meeting with current and potential sponsors, recruiting PGA TOUR players to the event and developing new on-course venues.
“Our goal this year is to not only continue the tremendous success of the tournament, but also to find new and intriguing ways to make it better,” Markham said. “We have to be constantly aware of new trends and technologies in order to grow our event and raise the bar for community involvement.  We’ve got some great new things we are working on for 2017 and can’t wait to unveil to the public.”
Markham has more than 18 years of experience in commercial real estate, specializing in the acquisition, disposition and leasing of industrial real estate in Arizona. Working at a global-leading commercial real estate firm, Cushman and Wakefield, Markham is part of a four-person team that has established themselves as industry experts and one of the Valley’s most respected and admired teams by their clients and colleagues.
The team’s success has earned them Top Producing honors since 2000 and they have been recognized four times by NAIOP as Industrial Brokers of the Year in Arizona. Markham earned the SIOR designation, a professional achievement for highly qualified commercial real estate practitioners with a strong transactional history in brokerage, and was selected by his coworkers to serve on the National Industrial Council Board and National Industrial Project Leasing Leadership Group. An active Thunderbird since 2005, Andy lives in Phoenix with his wife Genny and their three children.
Sugich is a partner with the law firm of Snell and Wilmer, is a member of the firm’s real estate and commercial finance practice group and chairs the firm’s Cross-Border Business Practice.  He is currently the Chair of the U.S. – Mexico Bar Association.  Since 2013, Sugich has been selected by his peers to The Best Lawyers in America® for Real Estate Law and he was named a “Leader in the Field” in Real Estate by Chambers Latin America®.  Sugich has been a Thunderbird since 2013 and lives in Phoenix with his wife Aida and their three children.

Arizona Federal Credit Union, a Phoenix-based financial cooperative, is shifting the focus of its retail delivery strategy based on a significant change in how members interact with the financial services the credit union offers.
Similarly to most consumers, Arizona Federal members have increased their use of banking solutions that add convenience to their everyday lives, including mobile deposit, online banking, and envelope-free ATMs. This has driven a 53 percent decline in branch transactions since 2010 and a 212 percent increase in mobile log-ins since 2012.
“We’re excited to bring more convenient financial technology, enhanced service options, and a redistributed branch network to our members,” said Jason Paprocki, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Arizona Federal Credit Union. “These changes will help our members take even more control of their financial lives, or, as we like to say, become financially empowered.”
The local cooperative is making changes in three categories:

Increased digital offerings including new live chat features, increased functionality on their mobile app, biometric log-in options, external mobile transfers, and the ability to control their Arizona Federal debit or credit card with the CardPower app.
Enhanced availability for members with a new 24-hour-a-day, 7-day-a-week member services team to provide assistance with fraud claims, password resets, and more.
An updated branch network that will bring two new locations to members (one in the West Valley and one in the Southeast Valley), as well as consolidating the Apache Junction, Mesa, Cave Creek, Bell Road, and 19th Avenue locations.

“We briefly considered moving toward a 100 percent digital atmosphere for our members. However, we believe there is still value in having locations available for our members and are aiming for one location within a 15-minute drive of most of our members within the Valley,” said Paprocki.
“Our current physical footprint is underserving members in the far West Valley and Southeast Valley. At the same time, we’re clustered too close together in other parts of the Valley. Over the next few years, we will be resetting our branch network to better align with this strategy.”
The refreshed delivery strategy is part of a focus to provide members with enhanced tools to manage their finances quickly, conveniently and from wherever they are. Arizona Federal has a history of being one of the first to launch many technological offerings, including fingerprint and eyeprint log-in capabilites.
More information about these changes can be found online at ArizonaFederal.org.

Inspiring Arizona Since 1985
Introduction
AZ Big Media's history is one of evolution and expansion. The company originally started out with just one magazine, when President and CEO Mike Atkinson purchased the publishing enterprise in 1985. The sole magazine, originally called Arizona Office Guide to Phoenix, was a quarterly controlled circulation magazine of 7,000 that focused on the Phoenix office market. The magazine changed names several times until 1988, when it changed to its current title, Arizona Business Magazine, and began covering the entire Arizona business market with a bi-monthly circulation of 25,000.
