May Tips from APC Service Pros:

Save $ Tip: Don’t let your thermostat take the heat

• Don’t place lamps, TV sets, or other heat-producing appliances near your thermostat. The thermostat senses the heating causing the air conditioner to turn longer than necessary. When installation a new thermostat, don’t place it in a location when the sun might shine on it directly.

Save $ Tip: Do touch that dial to save some money

• Remember that each degree you dial below 78 increases your energy consumption by about 8 percent. If your monthly electric bill is about $100, you’ll save $8 a month with EACH degree you can stand above 78.

Save $ Tip: Consider a programmed response

• If it’s hard to remember to tweak your thermostat before you leave for work, consider investing in a programmable or smart thermostat or a timer for your window unit.

April Tips from APC Service Pros:

• Have a professional air conditioning contractor inspect and maintain your system as recommended by the manufacturer. All Home Warranty companies require AC systems to be properly maintained.

• Clean clothes dryer exhaust duct, damper, and space under the dryer.

• Make sure the lights bulbs in all fixtures are the correct wattage.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

March Tips from APC Service:

1) Trim shrubs and plants near condensing unit to ensure proper air flow and circulation.

2) Have a professional air conditioning contractor inspect and maintain your air conditioning system as recommended by the manufacturer.

3) To improve the efficiency and performance of your cooling system, we recommend that you check your air filter monthly, especially during heavy use months. If the air filter looks dirty, change it. Dirty air filters will slow down air flow and make the system work harder, wasting energy and can also lead to expensive repairs and early system failure. A clean filter will prevent dust and dirt from building up in the system.

Happy Presidents' Day!

February Tips from APC Service:

• Is your AC system under warranty?
All manufactures advise that your system is inspected at the beginning of each season by licensed, insured HVAC professional.

This ensures your system is running at peak performance!

• Ceiling fans can help to keep you comfortable in the spring and summer.

Hope your enjoying Martin Luther King Jr. Day!

January Tips from APC Service:
