More women and girls from Canada's Aboriginal population go missing or are murdered than any other section of society. Joanna Jolly reports from the banks of the Red River which runs through the city of Winnipeg, where a number of bodies have been found. She asks why are Aboriginal women so vulnerable and who is killing them?(Photo: Tributes to Tina Fontaine, the Aboriginal schoolgirl murdered in Winnipeg last August. BBC copyright) Show more ...

"It is a historic day in the history of the internet," Columbia Law School Prof Tim Wu said. "Net neutrality, long in existence as a principle, has been codified in a way that will likely survive court scrutiny. More generally, this marks the beginning of an entirely new era of how communications are regulated in the United States."

"Often overlooked is the simple question, just what are you trying to change? The Impact Guide identifies four categories: changing minds, changing behaviors, building communities and changing structures. Each can require different distribution plans."

Beadie Finzi knows all about the power of documentaries—through BRITDOC, the film-nurturing organization she co-founded a decade ago, she had a hand in this year's Documentary Feature Oscar winner, "CITIZENFOUR," and in another nominee, "Virunga." But filmmakers don't have to reach the red carpet to have measurable impact today. We explore BRITDOC's Impact Field Guide—one of a growing set of tools available online—to learn more.

Knowledge, networking and lobbying for international TV, radio and online
Introduction
The AIB (Association for International Broadcasting) is the global industry association and knowledge network for the international broadcasting industry – cross-media, cross-border, cross-cultural. It has grown into a unique centre of information about international broadcasting, covering television, radio, and emerging media platforms such as online and mobile.

The AIB was established in 1993 at the instigation of the international broadcasting industry, which at the time had no independent representative association.

It provides its members with unique market intelligence and networking opportunities, promotes their interests, encourages broadcasting excellence and innovation, lobbies on behalf of the industry and provides training and consulting services.
