Wow! What a beautiful sunset! This was taken by a teacher in Ichihara city, Chiba prefecture. Ichihara is about 1 hour east of Tokyo, and 1 hour west of some of the best beaches in Japan which makes a perfect location!

This week on Foodie Friday: Ramen! One of the best things about Japan is that even though ramen is a staple food, there are so many different varieties! Like this lemon ramen from Okayama! With its lemony zesty flavor paired with savory noodles, it's a particularly unique and delicious discovery!

Here are some nice photos from our Himeji school, in Hyogo prefecture. The teacher that took these writes "Welcome to AEON Himeji Terminal Square, which recently relocated into a new building. Himeji is home to Himeji Castle, a World Heritage site that can be seen from the station." Can you spot the AEON sign on the building?

Did you know there is a train station in Japan that has a cat who works as Stationmaster? Kishi station in Wakayama is famous all over the world for their unique style of management. The original stationmaster, Tama, passed away in 2015. Nitama, her successor, took over this year and has been doing a great job of running the station. In the above photo, you can see the small station which has been modeled to look like a cat. Cool!

Here are a couple of great snow shots we received from teachers over the weekend. Both photos were taken from the window of the bullet train. The first photo is along the Joetsu Shinkansen, on the way to Niigata. The second photo is along the Hokuriku Shinkansen on the way to Toyama. Looks beautiful and chilly!

Check out these amazing photos a teacher in Toyama sent us! Here, you can see the Tateyama Kurobe Alpen route. The road is paved through the snow in the mountains, which creates massive snow walls! Wow!

Whenever a prospective student comes to AEON, teachers always help out by giving them a short demo lesson. Here you can see teachers in our Chubu area, near Nagoya, practicing and perfecting their kid's demo lessons. Good luck everyone!

Have you heard of Hatsumode? Hatsumode is the tradition of visiting a shrine or temple on the first day of the year to wish for good luck and prosperity in the coming year. Some people like to line up so they can be the first to arrive right at midnight on New Year's Day, while others wait until later. Here you can see one teacher's visit to a shrine in Akita Prefecture, in Northern Japan.
