Rehmannia glutinosa in my front yard that has been spreading like crazy. This plant has a beautiful flower and powerful healing properties. When raw this herb is called sheng di huang and when prepared iti is shu di huang. In Chinese herbal medicine the raw is used to nourish the yin and clear deficient heat which can look like a low grade fever, dry mouth, or constipation, insomnia, face flushing. The prepared version nourishes the blood and yin and essence which can mean symptoms like dizziness, difficulty falling asleep, pale complexion, irregular menstruation, graying of hair and poor memory.
