Thinking about buying a #BeachFrontHome? Be sure to look for a home with a strong roof, sealed windows and doors, functioning utilities, and spaces that could be used as storm shelters. Some winter beach houses also come complete with stilts, to help brace them against the elements—while also providing an aerial view of the beach you so adore.

Great article is you are in the #HomeBuying or HomeSelling process. Home Inspection Repair Requests To Avoid.

You find the perfect home, it meets all of your ‘requirements’, and then you have the inspection done. What repairs should you ask the seller to cover--roof, HVAC, plumbing, foundation issues, lighting? According to +Bill Gassett article, the issues should be large enough that they have a significant impact on the use and enjoyment of the home both now and in the future.

Read the article to be sure you are clear on exactly what a home inspection is all about.

There are also some excellent home inspection references in the article from +Kyle Sharow +Paul Sian  +Xavier De Buck and others.

See the home inspection repair requests a buyer shouldn't make. What issues are reasonable to ask a seller to fix when buying a home?

Leaving your refrigerator door open forces the compressor to work harder to drive out warm air and all that extra energy can really add up. To save energy (and money), try to limit how long you open your fridge and always check to make sure it's closed afterwards.
