Middle-aged siblings Vanya and Sonia have spent their lives devoted to the care of their parents. Never having left their childhood home, they now bicker and complain about the circumstances of their wasted lives. That is, until their glamourous movie-star sister, Masha, suddenly hits the scene with her new boy toy Spike in tow. Mix in a soothsaying cleaning woman, someone named Hootie Pie, a sweet young aspiring actress, and plans that could devastate the family, and you have the laugh-out-loud ruckus and Tony Award-winning play that will be a sure-fire audience favorite.

Our favorite maid Cassandra knows how to serve up danger with a sandwich on the side: “I see disaster ahead for all of you! Lunch in about 20 minutes.”

This is what happens when you text in front of Vanya: ““We had telephones and we had to dial the number by putting our index finger in a round hole representing two to zero. If the number was 909-9999, it could take hours just to dial the number. We had to have PATIENCE then. And we used to lick postage stamps. It was an unpleasant, but it had to be done."

The younger generation will never understand. Take Nina for instance: “I’ve never seen Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Is it like The Little Mermaid?”

A nugget of wisdom from the resident hunk, Spike: “You never know when your big break will happen. Look at Jersey Shore!”

The mind boggles as to why anyone would leave Masha: “He left me for someone who looked a little like Angelina Jolie. So I comfort myself with saying it was she. Still I haven’t been able to hold on to my husbands, I don’t know why. I’m talented, charming, successful – and yet they leave me. They must be insane.”

Being an adopted child, as told by Sonia: “I have a feeling my real parents were two drunken Irish people who left me alone every night while they went to the pub. Until one night they were so bombed out of their minds, they walked off a cliff.”
