Visual Marketing! 12 Most Powerful Tips for Visual Dominance

"As the internet and technology take on bigger roles in our lives, what people love to read, watch, share and promote changes. People have far less time and are expecting, or should we say demanding, more visual ways of digesting information and sharing it online, mostly in the form of social media.

Images and video are dominating Facebook and Pinterest, and that is probably no surprise. But places like Twitter, which were once a “text only” place to hang out, are now a visual-loving platform where you share your latest and greatest visuals too."

12 Most Honest Reasons to Lie When Interviewers Ask Your Current Salary by +Eric Butts

What’s the key to a successful salary negotiation? If your answer isn’t “lying,” then you’re doing it wrong.

It sounds harsh, but it’s a cold world out there in the business world. One of my mentors made a general comment to me about working for a company you don’t own: “If you’re not getting over on them then they’re getting over on you.” He gave this advice to ease my guilt for lying about a sick day to interview at another company, but why stop there with lying as a career advancement strategy?

12 Most Game-Changing Lessons for Entrepreneurs
One lesson: No one does it alone

We live in a society that loves to perpetuate the myth of the bootstrapping, “self-made” entrepreneur. In truth, there is no such thing. Yes, there are many successful entrepreneurs who came from impoverished backgrounds and had very few advantages in life. It’s also true that all of these people had to work incredibly hard to get where they are. Without a doubt, these individuals deserve to be recognized for their tenacity and hard work, but they still aren’t self-made. No one is. Every single person who experiences any degree of success has a long list of people to thank. Get into the habit of doing so early and often.

12 Most Imperative Steps to Changing Your Career

Changing your career isn’t easy — but when it’s time, no other solution is sufficient replacement. There are a few signs and guideposts along the way that let you know in not-so-subtle form that you’re due.

For instance, have you been nursing a bored, slightly resentful dread in the pit of your stomach for the last few months of work? Watching the clock tick slower and slower each day? Or just plain disengaged, antsy and dreamy about all the other things you’d rather be doing?

There could be more subtle signs as well. Things like: realizing you don’t want to get promoted and become your boss; spending more and more time working on your side hustle (and seeing sustainable results that you could transfer into a full-time gig); drinking every night to soften the edges nicely sharpened by time spent at work.

One step to get started:
Assess yourself
If you do decide you want to change your career, it will be tremendously helpful to evaluate your values, skills, personality and interests using self assessment tools. Sign up to take the Meyers Briggs test and other skills assessment tests or hire a career coach to help you figure out the bigger picture of who you are.

If you think you might need a change, find inspiration here to change your path and find your ideal career.

12 Most Unexpected Ways International Adoption Made Me a Better Person

One way that international adoption can make you a better person:
A new view of materialism
"A trip to another country really puts things into perspective. I was surprised to realize firsthand the value of relationship over the acquisition of things. I believe our Western affluence blinds us to the truth of what it means to be human. We are able to live on very little; that is the truth. Once you fall in love with a country like Haiti and come back home, you realize how unimportant all the fluff really is. Suddenly, all these silly, materialistic things don’t hold as much weight as they did before. They are put everything in proper perspective in your mind. It’s like you’re unattached, unhinged, and completely free from all those chains."

Need some help with Instagram?
12 Most Snappy Ways to Get Instaglam on Instagram will give you ideas to make this fun, quick social media platform a part of your business strategy.

Have you been wondering how you can dig a little deeper and build a community on Instagram?

All it takes is a little thought behind it partnered with consistency and you’ll have a thriving Instagram presence in no time!

1. Share your best photos
Instagram is about quality — not quantity! Take your time when taking and choosing photos to share.

Lux tips
“Lux works its magic by making your photos more vibrant and bringing out details you couldn’t see before. Once you’ve taken a photo or uploaded a saved photo from your phone, just tap the sun symbol  in the camera view to turn Lux on. If you have the most up-to-date version of the iOS app, use the slider to adjust the contrast and saturation of your photo.”

2. Use hashtags
You can use up to thirty hashtags on each post. I’d recommend sticking to three or four in the comments and then adding more into a comment below. It seems strange, but this is acceptable on Instagram.

Instagram’s best hashtag guidelines include:
Be relevant — use hashtags that will help people find your photos
Be specific
Be observant — look at other photos using the same hashtags and discover some new gems

I like to save groups of hashtags on Evernote for different purposes to make it easy to cut and paste on-the-go. It also helps you build a solid hashtag strategy for your Instagram community.

You can load an app for your phone to find popular hashtags such as “Tags for Likes” (Android and iOS).

For business purposes, chose relevant hashtags and use one for business purposes that is easy to spell and remember.

I hope these tips will intrigue you and spark some renewed interested in Instagram!
