That sounds awesome! I'm ashamed to say I didn't even know about it. But unfortunately no Europe trips scheduled or possible for me for the remainder of the year... :(

Beer Festivals  -

We all go to beer festivals... Some better than others. But +DRAFT Magazine just released the 30 rules for beer festivals. Consider this "festiquette." Well worth the read... ALL are applicable at some point or another. Cheers! - See more at: http://bit.ly/2aQHJ3p

Drinking a can of Triple Bogey Brewing Co. Premium Lager. The only thing better than playing golf is playing golf with a beer in your hand. Cheers!

Beer played such an important role as a common currency in Mesopotamia that it was mentioned in the Code of Hammurabi. Just as this ancient code of laws advocated the general principle of an eye for an eye, anyone who diluted beer or used inferior grains faced serious retributive justice: being downed in the impure beer he or she created.

Your Journey  -

I found a misprint in the 2010 edition. They list the Ryan Sullivan's Imperial Stout from +Moylan's Brewery & Restaurant as Ryan O'Sullivan's both in the index and in the book. I checked and there isn't a beer called Ryan O'Sullivan's. You can visit http://bit.ly/1xcBxsO to view all their beers. Not sure if anyone else has discovered this, but wanted to point it out. Cheers! (Oh, and we plan to review the beer later today.) #1001Bottles

Update... So I called the brewery. This beer was named after Ryan Sullivan, the guy that plays the bagpipes at the brewery every St. Patrick's Day. After several years, he asked why they added the O to his name. Ha! They realized it was wrong, and made the update. This happened several years ago. SO glad I called because that is awesome to know why the name changed and that the beer is the same. Cheers to learning! #themoreyouknow

The correct answer is Dunkel

Dunkel ("dark" in German) is a German style of beer made from barley, creating a smooth reddish-brown beer with soft caramel, nutty and coffee flavors.

Oh, and Nonic is a style of pint glass with a bulge near the top. Cheers!

I love root beer. I love beer. But Hard Root Beer? Sign me up! They aren't the first to make Hard Root Beer, but +Mission Brewery is about to release Hard Root Beer. This stuff sounds awesome, too. “Our customers love to try new beverages, and we expect the Hard Root Beer to become wildly popular,” siad Dan Selis, Mission Brewery’s Founder and CEO. Visit http://bit.ly/1Bdylhb to learn more about their new Hard Root Beer. Cheers!

What I'm Drinking  -

Grabbed a bottle of Barrel Aged Sour State Pen Porter from +Santa Fe Brewing Company a few weeks ago. Decided to open it tonight in celebration of Fat Tuesday. This beer is brewed with Brett, and you can smell that as soon as you open the bottle. The aroma is strong, but the flavor is stronger with a punch of sour.

Not sure how many bottles of this are still around, but this beer is insane. Rated it 4.5/5 on +Untappd. Cheers to whatever you're drinking tonight!

Introduction

Sheryl and Ricky are both bloggers, but have never blogged together. One day Sheryl sent Ricky a URL to a book titled 1001 Beers You Must Try Before You Die. When Ricky saw that book, this blog was born. So they began a journey of trying all 1001 beers. One bottle at a time, they will search for, purchase, drink and review for your pleasure. From this bottle to the next, bottoms up!
