No previous skills are required to follow the book, and if you're completely new to Linux, you'll pick up most of the basics along the way.

OAuth scopes list is now available

Google Sign-In (http://goo.gl/3klKUK) is a powerful mechanism to authenticate a user to your app using Google Accounts. With Google Sign-In, developers can request authorization for their apps to access other Google APIs on behalf of the user.

If you're new to authorization, the concept of scopes relates to granting an app third-party access to authorized data. Each scope is a single character string (represented currently as a URL). An app will request one or more scopes of authorization it wants to obtain so that it can access data on behalf of the user(s) granting (or denying) that access.

In the past, the scopes were only found in the documentation for each of the APIs. We're happy to announce that we’ve now consolidated the OAuth scopes for all Google APIs onto a single page. Check it out! developers.google.com/identity/protocols/googlescopes

Debugging Memory Leaks in Node.js Applications

Memory leaks in long running Node.js applications are like ticking time bombs that, if left unchecked in production environments, can result in devastating outcomes. These bugs are often considered to be hard to find. However, with the right tools and a strategic approach, memory leaks can not only be solved but also avoided in the future.

In this article, Toptal engineer Vladyslav Millier gives us insight into what memory leaks are, how some sophisticated debugging tools can be used to find memory leaks, and how to plug them once and for all.
