That's awesome!
Amazing design!
Jony Ive is always designing great products!
Whether its for +Leica Camera or Apple!

I swear without Jony Ive Apple wouldn't be where they are today!

nice, viewfinder'll get finger-smudgy though

What a hideous design. Marc newson design that atrocious Pentax camera. It was fugly. What a way to destroy and absolutely beautiful and timeless Leica design. Gross

Kinda boring looking. And the dials look like a pain in the ass to turn.

bei mir sind viele Adressaten nicht n D.land

I have had quite a few Leica cameras, and now also have an M8.2. The M series cameras are nice in some ways, but to me, the Fuji X100s is more of what Leica used to be, at a fraction of the price.

Der spontane 'Haben wollen Reflex' kommt bei mir relativ selten zum Vorschein - aber hier ist er massiv !

Awful design. It wants to be something else, it doesn't want to be a camera.

Jony Ive should design more consumer products that people can actually buy, instead of one-off masturbatory exercises like this. It's not like Apple has kept him too busy lately.

Wow, I'd love it if some photo nut would buy it and actually use it but that's unlikely. Is there an estimate already? I'm guessing Ferrari money...

Werra.  Cripes I miss my Werra.  What a fun, beautiful camera.

Looks like a speaker, that can snap photos.

How do you clean those tiny holes?

I love my Leicas ... but any fund or initiative that "fights" is in the wrong place for me!

interesting...  but I can't stop thinking "is this a camera that is meant to take pictures with or of?" Aaaand I keep answering: "probably both"

The essence of the Leica design has completely disappeared.
In addition, for the designer the European public is not important. The distance scale of the lens is in imperial measurements, no metrics.   Is this perhaps the evidence that the Leica, while a magic object, is provided with an outdated technique.

I think it is an object of modern art of modern industrial design. As such it works.

the shutter-speed dial looks impractical.

I like the idea of the recessed controls on the top cover. The extreme rounded edges are too reminiscent of Apple's original translucent Mac OS X theme for me. It feels somehow unfinished or incompletely refined—a collector piece never actually intended to be used. For such a marque as Leica, this is perhaps a step too far away from function toward form.

Looks like some cheapo East German thingie from the early 1960s.

So, what happened to it? Anyone know?
